elvis was born on the 8th january 1935,he was a twin but sadley the twin did not not make it,is family was poor aould not afford adequate medical care, as a result his older twin brother,jesse was stillborn.elvis's father vernon and mother gladys worked hard to support the family elvis was brought up to the sounds of gospel music, joing in as soon as he was able,elvis was quick to learn all the songs,he entered his first singing competion at the age of ten,coming second and winning five dollars plus free admission to some fair rides.
the family moved to memphis in 1948, in august1956 elvis began work on his first film (love me tender).elvis was the king of rock and roll no one will ever take is place.he died on the 16th august 1977,
Elvis 33 years ago today the good lord took you away.
We will never know the reason why as today we all sit and cry .
Today you are in our hearts and in our prayers and they are coming to you up them golden stairs .
But there is one thing i promise you , you will always be in our hearts and there you will always stay.
